Studying for the Step 3 midst the Holiday Season

It's Holiday Season in many parts of the world, where chocolate and gingerbread are just a little portion of the daily menu. So we've got hot tamales and turkey, vanilla coated fruitcake, and Italian Panetone everywhere. There's parties every day and people are crazy buying Christmas Gifts for friends and family.

Meanwhile, you and I are stuck between the real and the USMLE world. So I'm studying for the Step 3. Sadly, none of us can really lay off and relax during the holidays, because every day is just as good as any other day to study a little bit more. You are like I am, if we miss a day of studies, we feel like dying.

So, between my frustration and a little bit of hope, I will share with you guys my strategy to conquer the USMLE Step 3.

For starters, I read Master of the Boards for the USMLE Step 3, by Conrad Fischer, in approximately 2 weeks. If you read 50 pages a day and take at least 1 day off a week, it'll take you about 2 week's time. Great.

After finishing Fischer's book, which was awesome >Check out my review of it on Amazon<  I started my due diligence on which Qbank to study first. So after reading much reviews I found out that Kaplans Qbook is amazing, as is USMLE World's. There isn't much to choose from out there, but, Kaplan's Qbook is much better than Kaplan's Qbank. So that's a relief. Instead of paying $79 for 1 month of Qbank access, you pay $30 for a book you get to scribble on and keep it for eternity.

Here's how I'm practicing: At least 1 whole test a day and review it thoroughly  This has proved to be very useful. I'm learning loads and hoping to achieve my great USMLE Step 3 score.

So here I am, practicing questions with my USMLE Step 3 Qbook, while my friends and family are eating chocolate cookies and many other Christmas treats. If you see little activity happening in this blog during December, you can most probably guess that it's because I'm trying to snatch a piece of fruit cake!

Happy Holidays to all of you!!
